Bone Health & Exercise

As we age the replenishment of our bone material becomes less efficient, leading to a thinning of the internal structure (Osteopenia). Many will regress into a dangerous state of Osteoporosis, which leaves one very vulnerable to fractures.

54 million Americans, half of all adults age 50 and older, are at risk of breaking a bone and should be concerned about bone health.
One in two women and up to one in four men will break a bone in their lifetime due to osteoporosis. For women, the incidence is greater than that of heart attack, stroke and breast cancer combined, and for men greater that the incidence of prostate cancer.
Osteroporosis-related bone breaks cost patients, their families and the healthcare system $19 billion annually. By 2025, it's predicted that the condtion will result in 3 million fractures and cost $25.3 billion.

Like any other system in the human body, bones need stimulus and stress in order to maintain and increase their strength. Resistance training is necessary in providing that, however the amount of weight used and volume of exercise is not as important as the type of movement and the tempo of an exercise.
Therefor it is important to be guided by a knowledgeable professional who can build and coach you through a program tailored to your individual needs. I am looking for 5 people over the age of 50 for my Dynamic Aging Program, which will be presented via a remote video platform at an affordable, discounted rate. Days and times of sessions will be determined by mutual agreement. You will not have to adhere to an arbitrary schedule.
Contact me for more details and then we can get you started right away!

" Tony is a great coach. He did a great job helping me to prepare for and recover from knee surgery. My recovery amazed the surgeon and I told him how prepared I was based on work with Tony. Since then he has helped me work through many strength and muscle issues. I would recommend Tony to anyone who wants to lead an active life." L. Locke Walnut Creek
